Tipping the scales at a physics-defying 1,065 grams for the complete wheelset, the Berd Sparrow carbon gravel wheels are engineered to fly up climbs while remaining tough enough to handle anything your off-pavement adventures can throw at them.
The secret to the Sparrow's unmatched ride quality lies in the spokes. Utilizing Berd's advanced ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) PolyLight spokes, this wheelset actively absorbs high-frequency vibrations and chunky gravel impacts. This unique vibration-damping quality dramatically reduces hand and arm fatigue during epic gravel races and long bikepacking trips.
Featuring a versatile 25mm internal rim width, the Sparrow perfectly accommodates everything from 28c road slicks all the way up to 50c mud slingers. Choose from Berd's all-new 36t Talon Gravel hubs, the lightning-fast Industry Nine Solix Centerlock hubs, or the completely silent Onyx Vesper Hook Flange hubs. Key Features
Advanced Berd Spoke Technology: Berd spokes are made from an advanced polymer called ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) that has 12 times the strength-to-weight ratio of steel and floats on water. These spokes have an improved fatigue life compared to steel, are completely impervious to the elements, and drastically reduce high-frequency vibrations from the road.
Talon Gravel/Road Hubs: At the center of the Sparrow wheels are the all-new Berd Talon Gravel/Road hubs. Featuring a clean spoke interface designed to work exclusively with Berd spokes, the Talon hubs include removable end caps for easy serviceability, a durable black anodized finish, and a highly reliable dual-sprung 36-tooth ratchet mechanism.
Anti-Pinch Flat Rim Lip: With a wide 3.75mm rim lip, the Sparrow carbon rims spread out tire and rim impacts across a much larger surface area. This smart design prevents pinch flats and structural rim damage during acute impacts on chunky gravel descents.
